Kākāpō sind eine gefährdete, einheimische Art in Neuseeland. Sie leben auf geschützten, isolierten Inseln und werden streng überwacht. Sie haben Peilsender und jeder ist mit einem Namen versehen. Als flugunfähige, große Papageien haben sie fast keinen Überlebensinstinkt, so dass sie ohne menschliche Hilfe aussterben würden.
Im Jahr 2021 gab es weltweit nur noch 252 Exemplare, eine Zunahme gegenüber den Vorjahren. Nicht einmal Menschen, die keine spezialisierten Wissenschaftler sind, dürfen auf diese Inseln. Die einzige Möglichkeit, Kākāpō zu helfen, sind Spenden an das Department of Conservation hier in Neuseeland.
Night Parrot Juice möchte Gewinne erwirtschaften und gleichzeitig die Neuseeländer darüber aufklären, wie wichtig die Rettung der Kākāpō-Population ist. Seine Reisekarte umfasst Saftboxen mit Aufklebern, ein Poster für die Aufkleber und schließlich eine interaktive App, mit der man Kākāpō sammeln und mehr Informationen über sie erhalten kann
Description:
Kākāpō is an endangered, native species in New Zealand. They are on protected, isolated islands and are heavily monitored. They have tracking devices and each is named. They have nearly no survival instincts, as a flightless, large parrot, so without human help, they would be extinct.
As of 2021, there were only 252 left in the world, an increase from previous years. Not even humans that aren't specialized scientists are allowed on these islands. The only way to help Kākāpō is through donations to the Department of Conservation here in New Zealand.
Night Parrot Juice aims to produce profits while also educating New Zealanders on the importance of saving the Kākāpō population. Its journey map includes Juice Boxes with stickers, a poster for the stickers, and finally an interactive app where you can collect Kākāpō and see more information about them.
