UNIVERSAL DESIGN competition
The design contest with direct feedback from users and experts of Universal Design. Invited to participate are companies, design offices, start ups and students.
Do you design or develop products, digital applications, architectures, or service scenarios that are broad, simple, intuitive, and cross-generational? Are you dealing with Universal Design as part of your product / service strategy?
Then take part and have your contribution assessed by an expert and a consumer jury according to the above criteria. The jury exhibition will take place at the Oskar von Miller Forum in Munich and will be part of the Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW) 2020 as an individual event.
From 07.03.-15.03.2020 it means for the submitter with interested visitors, the jury, users and other participants to get into conversation and to represent their view on the Universal Design.

The expert JURY determines the winner of the UNIVERSAL DESIGN expert and the UNIVERSAL DESIGN GOLD awards.
The members of the expert JURY are composed of the different disciplines of design, such as product design, information design, service design, architecture, interior design and specialized journalism. All members of the expert JURY have profoundly explored the transdisciplinary dimension of Universal Design from their specific expertise in science, research, business and society.
Uni. Prof. Wolfgang Sattler from Bauhaus University Weimar has been chairing the six members of the expert JURY for the past 7 years.
Because of the consumer JURY and the associated UNIVERSAL DESIGN CONSUMER award the contestants have the opportunity to recieve an evaluation and direct feedback from the consumers.
The consumer JURY consists of a heterogeneous group of about 100 people in the age of 14 to 85 years. In terms of the Universal Design criteria, the composition of the jury is supposed to represent a cross-section of society as far as possible. The focus is on a preferably diverse representation and not on a percentage basis.
All JURY members are familiar with the principles of Universal Design and judge the submission by considering the criteria and their personal perspective.

All submissions will be exhibited during the 8-day jury exhibition throughout the leading Design Week Germany (MCBW) in Munich in the prestigious Oskar-von-Miller Forum.
Furthermore, all submissions will be published on our social media channels and on our website.
The participants have the opportunity to present their submission to the JURY groups and obtain feedback in direct exchange.
At Networking SEMmel Breakfast, the participants have the opportunity to exchange and connect with other participants and designers on a professional level.
The winners will receive the rights to use their winner logo of the submitted product/service for marketing and PR purposes without restrictions.
Upon request, the winner's certificate will be presented personally at an event selected by you.
All products /services are presented in the annual documentation of the institute as well as the Universal Design Forum e.V..
Conditions of participation
UNIVERSAL DESIGN competition is a fee-based competition for companies, designers, architects, students, colleges, research institutions and schools whose products, services and architecture are characterized by their generational, broad, simple and intuitive usability.

Please make sure that your product is delivered properly functioning and that our logistics team only accept the shipments. If your product has to be set up on site, this service has to be paid by you.
